Developing Themes

Minimalist

After reviewing my artist research, I was able to divide the imagery into themes which I can further respond to. My minimalist style draws from images I found on pintrest, most of these images dont have an attached artist and so I am mainly inspired by their contained style and simplicity, working a bold simple form onto a clean white background.

The diversity within my artist research mainly comes down to artists I P LOBATO and Suehiro Maruo whos work holds a contrasting feel of darkness, I decided to respond to this through a theme of surrealist apocolypse and modern warriors, working alongside the idea of mental health through an abstract humoured style. I feel this is definitely alternative and wouldn’t be expected however I feel it does work well the the idea of morita therapy which I feel is all about accepting emotional battle as lifes nature. I feel helps expand the options for my market research.
