To conclude my research, I have produced a series of tampered photographs. Touching on my exploration of pyschoanalysis, surrealism, psychology and art on the mind.
This process of manipulating photography felt like a powerful way of visulising the mind; capturing both the conscience and unconscious. Throughout this project I began to feel like art is a tool, a means of recording social history and an opportunity to psychoanalyse; it has purpose and is the most human form of expression. I wanted to commemorate this while feeding into surrealist and freudian theology. I produced these through adding chemicals, tampering with memory. I caught a sense of illogical dream like imagery. Representing a battle between our rational and irrational selves, exploring states of mind, memory and identity.
